Myanmar added to the list of high-risk countries
The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) placed Myanmar on a list of high-risk countries it called a “blacklist” with “strategic deficiencies in anti-money laundering, counter-terrorist financing and proliferation financing regimes”. The city was added to FATF’s list of high-risk countries for failing to flag strategic deficiencies as committed in February 2020.

BCCI announces equal pay for Indian men and women cricketers
In a first step to combat discrimination, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced that it will pay equal match fees for both men and women in India. According to BCCI Secretary Jay Shah, in a series of tweets, the Indian Cricket Board was implementing a fair remuneration policy for its contracted women players.
Two Indian beaches enter the coveted Blue Beaches list
Two more Indian beaches, Minicoy Thundi and Kadmat, have entered the coveted list of blue beaches by the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change. The country now has 12 Blue Flag beaches, an eco-label awarded as the cleanest beaches in the world.

Gujarat to get project with TATA and Airbus
Tata and Airbus will soon manufacture military aircraft in Gujarat. The state has closed a massive deal and the cost of the project is 22,000 crore rupees or 2.66 billion dollars. The total cost of the project is Rs 21,935 crore. Aircraft can also be used for civilian purposes.

Approval for genetically modified mustard
The Government of India has granted organic clearance for domestic genetically modified (GM) mustard seeds. The latest decision cleared the way for the commercial use of its first genetically modified food crop.
